I've Gotaway

By the time you read this I will be wearing this....
My Getaway badge. It's the fifth one so we had to include 5 of something, hence the 5 stars. In honour of Bonfire Night we also had to include a bit of bling so I coated the Thickers in Glossy Accents and Glitter.

I will be back home Sunday night, hopefully with lots of new creations. I will try and get online as soon as I can to share my weekend with you.

Have a Great Weekend xx

Nearly Finished

So I managed to completely neglect my blog again! Honestly, this part time study sure takes up a lot of my time! I haven't done all that much scrapping recently but here are a few things I haven't shared with you yet.

My September year book pages, can't believe how thick my year book is now and how in just a couple of months it will be all finished. I absolutely loved this kit and saved my favourite paper to go on my September entry. Obviously the big event of the month was my starting back to uni, I didn't have a picture so I scanned my student card.
The other event worthy of documenting was my first trip to Silverstone, I couldn't claim to be a proper petrol head til I had been there and now I have! Problem is, now I won't be happy until I've seen the GP there!
Both pages together for full effect!
There are now just three short days until I Gogo Getaway and I cannot wait. Not only to have some uninterrupted scrapping time but also the 4 star hotel and piles of food....not to mention a photo shoot with the one and only Kirsty Wiseman. Here is a sneak peek of my name badge...
And finally, I have been working away at some little boxes in which to put some handmade goodies that I have made for Christmas pressies......I can't share the contents yet as one of the recipients reads my blog and I don't wanna spoil the surprise!
In other news, other than uni keeping me busy I have......helped run a dancing competition, frozen to bits cos our boiler is broken, started my Christmas shopping, finally recieved my (somewhat pitiful) student loan, celebrated my nephews 10th birthday, and helped my best friends celebrate the birth of their first niece.

It's Looking Rosie

Well I had good intentions for today but have only managed a little bit of reading, I just can't tear myself away from the tv coverage from Chile. I have been watching solidly since number 5 came out early this morning and before that was watching the preparations in the early hours in the morning. It is so incredible, everything seems to be going so smoothly considering the magnitude of it all and it is truly humbling.

Anyway, on this momentous day, my best friend is waiting to become an Aunty for the first time and she asked me if I could make a present for little baby Rosie when she arrives. I had lots of fabric left from the bunting I made a while back so I decided to use it up. I was amazed how quickly it came together (hooray for pinking shears!!)
I used up the scraps up by making these fabric roses which proved tricky but were totally worth it. I attached them using brooch pins so they could be taken off and the bunting could be washed....don't think my handstitching would survive the washing machine particularly well!
Not a great day for taking photos, they would look a hundred times better against a bright blue sky.
Whilst I had the time I whipped up a little sign for her bedroom door too.
Put my Tattered Florals die to good use again.
All I used was a few scraps of Girls Paperie.
And I made a little gift tag with the spare flowers.
So now it's a wait until she arrives. Going to suggest that they buy today's newspaper to go with it, if she arrives today it's gonna be one to remember!
Off to wait for Miner 18
Have a good evening xxx

One Good One Not So Good

So for a couple more layouts. I treated myself to a couple of new papers. There wasn't much that came out of CHA that I really liked but I spotted a couple of the Jillibean Soup papers that I thought would be good to scrap boy pics.
All those stars and monsters were begging to be cut out and made into embellishments in their own right. A few stamps, a drop or two of glossy accents and a few inches of twine and it was done.
Love those Thickers!
The other layout I wasn't so pleased with, think my mojo was a little thin on the ground that day.
Cute photo though huh???

No Time To Stand Still

Hello Blogland, it's been a while! It's been a busy couple of weeks, am really getting into the swing of being a student again and am working hard, doing lots of reading and practising for the skills tests that I have to do. I have found time to scrap, albeit short bursts here and there but enough to get a fix!

Two weeks ago I had to go into Bath for two days to work on a project, on the second day I finished an hour before my train was due but shock horror I was too exhausted to go shopping so I popped into Smiths, grabbed a copy of Scrapbook Magazine and a bar of choccie and headed for a bench on the station platform. In it I spotted a layout that caught my eye by Anna Bowkis and it inspired me to do this.
I was really pleased as I managed to dig out some fairly old stash so I felt good to be using it up. Funnily enough the photo was taken in Bath. There are always really great living statues but this one caught my eye and I stopped to watch, this group of girls went to have their picture taken with him and when he saw that one of them was wearing a silly mask he lost his compusure and had a good giggle!! It was ever so funny.
Managed to use this cute robot stamp that I hadn't used yet, and used up some chipboard and sparkly sticky backed plastic (tres Blue Peter!) that I'd had for ages.
Am loving the grey splatters too!
Bit of a quieter week planned this week, good job as I haven't been well so need to catch up with myself a little. Will schedule some posts for you. Have a good week xxx

Still Here

Just a quickie to let you all know I am still here. I have been scrapping but I've been busy and poorly and haven't found the time to photograph anything. Promise I will try my hardest to do it tomorrow before you all get bored and stop following me! xxx
